ALONE IN THE DARKNESS
Deep in the shadowy realms of the Void, Nazu silently contemplated his defeat.
Most of the gates he had created were destroyed, as were a vast majority of his legions of terrible creatures. The Dragons slumbered, and he knew it would take eons for them to recover, though in the timeless Void this was of little consequence. He saw what the Children had done, the sacrifices they had made in order to stop him. That they had suffered brought him some satisfaction, but it still was not enough. Nazu had become thoroughly corrupt and more than a bit mad through the ages spent in the Void, and the only thing that would stop the Great Deceiver now was his complete victory or his total destruction.
Nazu immediately began plotting how to achieve the former and avoid the latter.
The idea of combining with avatars in order to physically enter the realms intrigued him. He began to dream up what the creatures he could twist and control might look like, and what they would be able to do with parts of his terrible spirit housed within them. He already had many Chaos Dragons that would work well for such a venture.
Next time would be different, vowed the Lord of Chaos.
