THE AFTERMATH
In the aftermath of the War of Chaos, there was great sorrow and mourning in the world.
The Children of AOZ set out to find where their brother had gone, for they suspected that he probably had a hand in the terrible calamity that had befallen the world. In their searching, they could not find all of the hidden gates that the terrible creatures had issued forth from. Indeed the world was so vast and the caverns beneath it so extensive that finding the nearly invisible gates was a nigh-impossible task even for the gods and goddesses that created the world, especially since they did not know of the existence of the gates in the first place.
When a gate was finally discovered by good fortune, and Nazu’s deception of his brothers and sisters unveiled, the gods and goddesses cried out to each other in anguish and rage. More gates were discovered, but the Children found that they could not enter the gates of the Void no matter how they tried, for the mechanism to cross over into them could not be determined.
The gates that were found were cast down and destroyed, but many more still remained undiscovered.
The people of the world cried out to the Children in their sorrow, for great devastation had been visited upon the world that would take eons to restore. It was known and accepted by mortals and gods alike that death was a part of life, and through it one rejoined with Infinity and therefore the Creator of All. Still it was very difficult to accept the loss of all the good people whose lives had been cut so tragically short before they had fulfilled the destinies laid out before each of them in the Plan.
During the mass distraction caused by the fighting, Nazu had himself gone forth and began quietly abducting more animals, as well as members of the races in the same way that he had the creatures beforehand. After the war, the ones lost in this way were counted and mourned as having fallen in battle or devoured by terrible creatures, and so their abduction went undiscovered. In the confines of the Void, the Chaos Lord used his dark powers to twist the poor souls of these people in the same way that he had to the life-forces of the creatures of the realms throughout the ages. He also used the souls of dead creatures and people that he had harvested to make his minions more powerful and even more terrible. In this way Nazu began creating the race of fiends known as the Xeron, and they would prove to be terrible in the ages to come.
As calamitous of all, however, was the fact that Nazu had also succeeded in capturing his first three Dragons…
